Bob Hilb was employed by Hilb, Rogal and Hamilton Company, a Richmond, Virginia based NYSE insurance broker. During a 13 year career at HRH, he was a producer in the local retail office, served as a founder and ultimately CEO of HRH International and concluded his career as a corporate vice president responsible for building affinity sales teams. Prior to his tenure at HRH, he worked at Lloyd’s of London and in the wholesale and program segment of the insurance brokerage industry. Bob is a graduate of Drake University.

David Hobbs

President & Chief Operating Officer

David Hobbs began working with Hilb Rogal & Hobbs Co (HRH) in 1992 as a sales representative. He became president of the Alabama region in 1999, where he was head of operations for one of the largest offices in the HRH system until it was acquired by the Willis Group in 2008. In 2009, Hobbs joined McGriff, Seibels & Williams, a regional insurance brokerage firm owned by BB&T and part of the fifth largest insurance brokerage firms in the United States. In 2013, he became president of the McGriff, Seibels & Williams’ Alabama operations. David is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College.

Jason Angus was the founder, and President of Venture Specialty Insurance and in 2011, Venture was acquired by the Hilb Group. After acquiring Venture Specialty Insurance in September 2011, the Hilb Group appointed Jason Angus as its Chief Marketing Officer. In 2014, Jason was named to Business Insurance Magazine’s 40 under 40 brokers. Jason earned a BA from Hampden-Sydney College and a MBA from the Mason School of Business at The College of William & Mary.

EVP – Mergers & Acquisitions

Jud Elliott started his insurance career with The Travelers insurance company. He then joined Provident Life & Accident Insurance Co. as manager of the group sales office in Dallas, TX. In 1991, Jud was hired by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia to lead the company’s major accounts business unit and later moved in to senior leadership positions before Wellpoint acquired BCBS of Georgia. In 2001, Jud was hired by HRH as national benefits director. In 2004, Jud joined Marsh to run the South region as part of a new senior leadership team for the employee benefits business. Jud is a graduate of the University of Georgia where he earned a BA and MBA.

Robert W. Blanton, Jr.

SVP & Controller

Rob joined the Hilb Group with over 25 years of accounting experience. From 1990 to 2006, he held various positions at Hilb Rogal & Hobbs (HRH Insurance), the last eight as Vice President & Controller. Rob also worked as Chief Financial Officer of Southern Title Insurance Corporation, a regional title insurance underwriter, before holding various positions at Genworth Financial, the latest as Director of Business Initiatives and Forecasting. Rob graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with an accounting degree. His is also a Certified Public Accountant.

SVP, Quality Assurance

Bill joined the Hilb Group with over 20 plus years as an accounting professional. From 1994 to 2008, he held various positions at Hilb Rogal & Hobbs (HRH Insurance) but served a majority of that time as its Vice President and Director of Internal Audit. Bill also worked as Chief Financial Officer of the Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity before becoming a Senior Advisory Consultant at VACO Resources serving several diverse clients. Bill is a graduate of Auburn University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Ashish Shroff

Ashish Shroff

Chief Information Officer

Ashish Shroff moved to Richmond from Cincinnati, OH in 2003 and joined First Health Services as Manager of application development. Since November 2008 to the present, Ashish worked at Virginia Farm Bureau as Manager of Affiliated Company Technologies. In this role, he was responsible for the integration of companies Virginia Farm Bureau acquired during his tenure and was accountable for the delivery and oversight of technology for all of the affiliated companies.

Jennifer Stanfield

VP Human Resources
As a graduate of Auburn University with a B.S. in Human Resource Management, Jennifer began her career in the insurance industry in 2005 with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama.  She joined McGriff, Seibels & Williams, a regional insurance broker, in 2007 as a member of the HR team.  In addition, Jennifer worked closely with senior management to create a sales training platform as well as working along side the marketing team to establish better relationships throughout the marketplace.  She joined the Hilb Group in 2016 as VP of HR.  She holds her PHR and SHRM-CP certifications.

Anne Nicoll Esq., CPCU

Director of Operational Risk Management

Anne began her career at Gencorp Insurance Group in 1997.  In 2015, Gencorp merged with the Hilb Group and is now known as the Hilb Group of New England. Anne’s roles expanded with this merger and she now serves as corporate general counsel for the Hilb Group.  She is responsible for the compliance of the firm’s carrier and government operations. Anne is a past president of the Rhode Island CPCU Society, where she continues to serve as a Director.  She has also served as a Director on the Boards of the Gencorp Insurance Charitable Foundation and the Rhode Island CPCU Scholarship Fund. She is a graduate of Rhode Island College and Roger Williams University School of Law and holds the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) insurance designation.
